Congratulations to the U18 WRJCA Phil Arnold Team on taking out this year premiership over FTGDCA (Ferntree Gully Districts) who have beaten us in the last two grand finals. Revenge is sweet.
Finals scores were FTGDCA 7/141 off 45 overs to WRJCA 7/142 off 41.2 overs.
FTGDCA got off to a slow but steady start in the first innings at 1/55, but our bowlers got back on top, bowling a very tight line and length to restrict the scoring whist picking up crucial wickets. As they have shown over the last couple of years FTGDCA are masters at defending small totals and today was no exception.
The WRJCA had to fight all the way to finally get the spoils. In a team effort, the major scoreboard contributors were Asher Khuram 23, Priyansh Chokshi 16, Lachlan Peterson 31 no &1/25, Sai Surapaneni 3/27, Harshal S Suresh 1/29, Tejas Hari 1/11.
The WJCA would once again like to thank Simon Lambert for his role as coach of the team. After a couple of years of being runner up, its good to take out the premiership.
